The MSJFL (the league) appoints boundary umpires older teams (U14s and older). All younger teams are responsible for providing a boundary umpire who is capable and familiar with the game procedures. It is important to note that boundary umpires:
- Cannot report players
- Cannot address the field umpire - especially regarding the field umpire's umpiring decisions
- Cannot address any player on the field
- Cannot address the opposition officials
Refer to: MSJFL Club Handbook 2010 (page 28)
Occassionally, theh MSJFL is unable to probvide boundary umpire to older teams matches (U14s and older). In these situations, teams will need to provide a boundary umpire.
