2023 Indigenous Jersey Launch
/STKCJFC Indigenous Jersey Launch - Celebration and Connection to Country
On Sunday 3oth July, we invited our members and the wider community to gather at Wattie Watson Oval for the official Indigenous Jersey unveiling.
We were joined by SMJFL dignitaries and our Committee, as the Launch and Welcome to Country was officiated by Boon Wurrung traditional owner and community leader Jaeden Williams. Jaeden shared the significance of how the intricate art design weaves stories and cultural meaning to reflect Yalukit Willam country on which our Club resides.
It was a momentous occasion and the culmination of many months of preparation and planning as we unveil the STKCJFC Indigenous Jersey - a celebration of Connection to Country.
Designed by emerging local artist Ngarra Kulin Williams, our Indigenous Jersey is a highly important and significant event for our Club, and an exciting part of our vision to encourage diversity and inclusion within our local community.
The launch was followed by our U17.5 Boys and U18 Girls teams who played their respective games in the new jersey. The club would like to thank everyone involved in the launch of our new Indigenous jersey and hope that our entire community will come together to embrace it for many years to come.
